Piano Quintet 10/8/2006 7:00 PM
Performance of Piano Quintet No. I, for piano and strings by classical composer Laurie Conrad.



Elegie performed by the Albert Consort 6/11/2005 7:30 p.m.
There will be a performance of Laurie Conrad's "Elegie" for string quintet on June 11, 2005 in Ithaca, NY at the First Baptist Church by the Albert consort. The quintet was written during the U.S. invasion of Iraq and is dedicated to all the innocent victims of that ongoing war.



Premiere of Laurie Conrad's String Quintet #2 3/13/2005 4:30 & 7:30 PM
The premiere of Conrad's String Quintet #2, performed by the Alfred Consort, will take place on March 13, 2005. Some of Conrad's honors include: Who’s Who in American Music, The International Who’s Who in Music (Cambridge), The International Encyclopedia of Women Composers, and Marquis’ Who’s Who in America. The quintet was written for new instruments created by the renowned string builder Robert Spear. These stringed instruments are of different dimensions, timbre and range than the traditional instruments, and expand the range of the traditional quintet. There will be an open rehearsal of the quintet at 4:30 p.m. with the composer leading the rehearsal and also speaking about the music. Both Spear and Conrad will speak at the 7:30 p.m. concert, and there will be a demonstration of the instruments. Conrad's beautiful and moving 'Elegie' for string quintet, dedicated to the innocent victims of the Iraqi invasion, will also be performed.



Off-air Film showing of "We Don't Say Goodbye" with 'Visions' score 3/10/2005
There will be an off-air showing of the documentary "We Don't Say Goodbye" at the Roberson Museum in Binghamton, NY on March 10, 2005. Music from Laurie Conrad's CD "Visions for Harp & Flute" is used in the film.

DATE: February 13 , 2005 WHO: Myra Kovary—harp; Laura Campbell— flute Composer Laurie Conrad WHEN: Sunday, February 13 at 4 p.m. WHERE: Grace Episcopal Church, 375 West Church at Davis, Elmira, NY Harpist Myra Kovary and flutist Laura Campbell will be featured at Grace Episcopal Church, 375 West Church at Davis, on February 13 at 4 p.m. in the 2004-2005 Music at Grace series. Performing together for over twenty years, the duo will present a varied program of music for the instruments combined and solo. Their program will include contemporary pieces such as Laurie Conrad’s “Visions for Flute and Harp,” as well as music by Saint-Saëns and Fauré. This event is made possible, in part, with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program administered locally by The ARTS of the Southern Finger Lakes.

Cable 13 Television Airing of Conrad's Unsung Song #1 9/23/2005 8 PM
The dress reheasal of composer Laurie Conrad's Unsung #1, performed by a Cornell ensemble called Women's Works, will be taped for television and aired in September, 2005. Conrad's piece is scored for piano and string quintet, and the composer will be playing the piano part for the taping and concert. The piece was written in 1996, shortly after the premature death of Conrad's singer and friend Louise McConnell. Members of Women's Works will complete the ensemble.



Performance of 5/16/2005 7:00 PM
A television studio taping of Conrad's nine "Visions for Flute and Harp" will be aired several times on Time Warner Cable 13 tv in May, 2005. The cycle of "Visions" were written for harpist Myra Kovary, and will be performed by Laura Campbell on flute and Myra Kovary on harp. Laurie Conrad is a pianist and composer living in Ithaca, NY. Some of her honors include: Who’s Who in American Music, The International Who’s Who in Music (Cambridge), The International Encyclopedia of Women Composers, and Marquis’ Who’s Who in America



Interview with Laurie Conrad 5/9/2005 7 PM
An Interview with Laurie Conrad on her "Visions for Flute and Harp" and other works will be aired several times on Time Warner cable 13 television in the spring of 2005. Laurie Conrad is a pianist and composer living in Ithaca, NY. Some of her honors include: Who’s Who in American Music, The International Who’s Who in Music (Cambridge), The International Encyclopedia of Women Composers, The Dictionary of International Biography and Marquis’ Who’s Who in America



PBS Television airing of 3/14/2005
The first public airing of the documentary "We Don't Say Goodbye" will air on television Monday, March 14, 2005 on PBS station WSKG. Music from Laurie Conrad's CD "Visions for Harp & Flute" is used in the film.
